Changing leadership

Change is the only constant in life”, Rakesh said.
Seema mumbled, “Hmm”

Changing work practice and environment around us always show a discrepancy in our performance. But change is only constant in life and we have to accept the change around us time and again.

Seema was also worrying about the same as her reporting manager had already resigned.
Mr. K. Ramanreddy has appointed recently as new team lead. His way of working is totally different from her ex -reporting manager Mr. L. Pathak.

New reporting manager has come with new work procedures ,new working approach, new philosophy, new beliefs, attitude and new ideas.

There are challenges from both sides as a team member or a team leader. Taking over a leadership of existing team is big challenge too.

Mr. K. Ramanreddy is facing challenge of establishing new working relationships as a team leader in existing team with old beliefs & old system.

Let’s see how you can  perform-

First and the most Important is “Accept the change” and take an action.

As a leader, you need to give emphasis on action to make the change quickly.

Figure out what your team member really want to do.  Explain your team members how you want the team to work, Set goals for them.

Encourage team members to connect — better communication early on will help avoid misunderstandings and poor results later.

As a member, be confident for the new leadership that it will bring better changes and knowledge in work

Identify & understand that leadership and individual contributor skills may differ

Being a valuable team member can open new career opportunities, because leaders may see firsthand what a great job you're doing. You may even be invited to bring your strengths into play in another team setting – and in higher profile, business-critical projects

And Keep a positive attitude. A positive attitude can be a refreshing change, and it will help others stay focused and productive as well.  Finally celebrate just as hard as you work. Celebrate success.

Please share your views/ experience as a team member or a team leader under changing leadership.
